At the end of 2016, Navalprogetti, thanks to its high experience with Ice Classed Ships Design and with Russian Class Register (RS), other than stability, structural and hydrodynamics analyses, was engaged by CNV shipyard in the tender for the construction of the Ice 2 Classed Tug featuring a 65 t bollard pull, 32 m overall length and equipped for firefighting aboard other ships FF3WS. Navalprogetti contributed to this project with the development of the design and the assistance to CNV shipyard during construction. Towing and self-propulsion tank tests, seakeeping model tests and towing model tests in ice basin were carried out after the hull lines definition and lightship weight estimation. The design proceeded with general arrangement and engine room layout, stability analysis, structural design and with HVAC, piping systems and electrical preliminary diagrams.
