Navalprogetti is happy to see that the majestic JSD6000 will join the Saipem fleet in 2024.
Ten years ago Navalprogetti worked extensively on the project of this vessel by providing consultancy services to the owner in many topics:
- Resistance, propulsion and seakeeping calculations before test execution;
- Assistance during the 6 months period of towing tank tests;
- Attendance to the tests and analysis of tests results: resistance, propulsion, seakeeping, manoeuvrability, pipelaying, thrusters interaction, wind tunnel, smoke propagation.
The tests and calculations brought very interesting and useful results in many areas but especially regarding the influence of the moonpool on the sailing of the vessel.
In addition to that, Navalprogetti carried out extensive FEM calculations related to the hull interfaces with the A&R (Abandon and Recovery) and mooring system equipment (winches and sheaves in both cases).
Navalprogetti is now pleased to see that the vessel will be eventually sailing soon!
