Navalprogetti is pleased to announce that its team assisted ENI Progetti in the technical evaluation of the shortlisted bidders for the third phase of the Baleine project.

Supporting the Increase in Production Capacity

To enable the increase in production from the aforementioned offshore field, ENI initiated a tender, and Navalprogetti was called upon to support the Company during the FEED phase for the Technical Bidder Evaluation (TBE). Navalprogetti deployed a team of experts to thoroughly evaluate the documentation provided by the bidders.

The evaluation covered various critical aspects, such as:

  • Marine systems
  • Structural calculations
  • Process engineering
  • Electrical systems
  • Preliminary safety checks (HAZID, HAZOP, FMECA)

A Major Oil and Gas Discovery

In 2021, ENI discovered an important associated oil and gas field located 70 km off the coast of Abidjan, at a depth of 850 meters. This discovery is one of the largest hydrocarbon finds made by an energy company in Ivory Coast.

Phases 1 and 2 and the Future of Phase 3

The current phases (1 and 2) utilize a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit, alongside a floating storage unit. Now, ENI is already planning Phase 3, which could significantly increase the production capacity of both oil and associated gas.
