Leveraging their extensive experience in maritime engineering, Navalprogetti completed the lightship weight survey onboard the Scarabeo 9.
The initial weight survey was conducted in 2022 while the Scarabeo 9 was operational off the coast of Congo. However, unfavourable weather conditions during that time prevented validation of the survey data, consequently, the decision was made to capitalize on the vessel’s scheduled port call in Palermo coinciding with the integration of the Ballast Water Treatment System (beginning of 2024) to perform the survey again.
The activities included the registration of all the weights onboard and a continuous monitoring of the material shifting due to the WBTS works and port operation ongoing in parallel, in addition a complete tanks inspection and sounding has been performed.
The final phase, the one dedicated to the draft marks reading, probably one of the most delicate, was witnessed also by the Owner.
Thanks to Navalprogetti Team meticulous preparation and in-depth knowledge of the Scarabeo 9, the inspection was completed efficiently and certified by the DNV surveyor, ensuring no disruption to the ongoing renovation activities onboard and the fulfilment of the shipowner stringent schedule.
The same activity was carried out for the Scarabeo 8 in Ågotnes, Norway.
